5G Coverage

Unlike other operators, O2 has 5G coverage throughout the province of Granada.

O2 uses the network with the best coverage currently available in Spain: Movistar coverage.

The porting process involves transferring a telephone number from one telecommunications operator to another.

At O2, we identify two categories of portability:

  • Portability from operators other than Movistar.
  • Portability from Movistar.

Below, we will explain everything you need to know to carry out the portability of your mobile and/or landline number to O2.

Mobile portability

FROM OPERATORS OTHER THAN MOVISTAR

Portability from Operators other than Movistar

  • To transfer your mobile number to O2, you must choose the option to keep your current number during the contracting process.
  • It is crucial that the cardholder data you provide us with (name, surname and ID number) are the same as those registered with your current service provider. In case of discrepancy, you can point out that the line belongs to another holder and provide us with their details to authorize the transfer.
  • Our logistics service will deliver the SIM card within 2 to 5 working days to the address you have indicated. Prior to delivery, we will contact you to confirm your address. If necessary, you will have the opportunity to change the delivery address at that time.
  • When you receive the SIM, access the personalized link that we will have sent you by SMS and email and follow the instructions.
  • We will notify you of the exact date when your number will officially switch to O2. Once portability is complete, simply insert the SIM card into your device and it will be activated automatically.

FROM MOVISTAR

If you are currently using a Movistar cell phone, you will not need to obtain a new SIM.

Since O2 and Movistar use the same network and infrastructure, we will perform an electronic portability, so your current Movistar SIM will remain functional with O2.

If you have opted for the mobile service only, the activation process should be quick, taking only a few minutes. On the other hand, if you have selected the combination of Fiber and Mobile, the activation process may take a little longer, up to three business days.

Once the portability to O2 has been finalized, you will only need to reboot your cell phone. We will keep you informed about the whole process via SMS.
